DEVLOG#10: PlayTest Imminent
And so it begins! Advanced space flight mechanics are finally implemented. Ships can now consume fuel through thrusting, rotating, using afterburners, and using the fuel brake. Very excited to say that our most recent changes bring a whole host of updates that are the eseential work that was necessary to prepare for playtest. As of right now, a closed playtest is planned for March 28th, Time TBD.
Some recently completed features:
INFRASTRUCTURE BUILDING & UPGRADING (See video below!)
Infrastructure can now be built on any landable celestail body. By any character with sufficient credits. The systems governing this are sophisticated, to say the least. Each project starts a crowdfunding attempt.
ACHIEVEMENTS & CAPABILITIES
For our achievement-oriented users
Skill-leveling, capability unlocks, and achievements now have full UI integration and are functional. While the implemented capabilities may actually change, the basic system which celebrates the users who are rabid about rewards is in place :)
ADVANCED SPACE FLIGHT MECHANICS
The advanced space flight mechanics include the introduction of shields, towing lines, and tractor beams! These are all fully integrated into Rapier 2D Physics and create some pretty amazing emergent space flight gameplay.
This is of course only a SMALL , SMALL taste of all that’s being built out and implemented.
